Not a "how-to" question, rather a "what is this" question

I have a 2012 Grand Touring AWD and I have read the manual twice (b/c the first time was in low light and I was sleepy) but I haven't found any mention of what the tiny blue light in the overhead console is. The picture of the overhead console in the manual doesn't call it out either.

Is that just a nightlight? Or is it a bluetooth connection light? Or ???

Ambient mood lighting. It's just a dim interior light so you can see the interior with out turning on the brighter interior lights. They seem too dim to me to actually be functional.

yup. its just enough to find large shapes out. if you bring your hand up to it you can see stuff better, like trying to read what was on the front of that cd you just pulled out, while its pitch black out side.
