Hi guys.
I have the 2002 Protege (Etude) Sportswagon 1.6 ISE
Ive done a turbo conversion on the car and now it doesnt start.
I dont get spark. As soon as i crank, it will give one spark and then nothing.
Ive replaced the crank sensor but no go.
Ive also noticed that the engine light doesnt show up on the cluster anymore and my rev counter doesnt move if i crank.
I have rechecked my wiring and it all seems fine.
Had a look on google and found that a lot of people had similar problems but no clear solution.
I dont know what to check anymore.
Someone told me that the ecu could be damaged. But how? The battery was disconnected before i started stripping.
I also cant find the ecu. Suspect it sits under one of the carpets or something.

The car has been standing for a year now and since the conversion is done, its been standing another month with no starting.
I miss my baby and hope someone could help me.

If the check engine light isn't coming on than your ECU is most likely deceased, or at the very minimum unpowered.

Oh boy. I will send it away to have it checked. Will keep you posted. This could get pretty expensive. A second hand ECU goes for around R7000.

Took it in and was told that they suspect that the processor in the control unit might be damaged and it cant be fixed.
Im not a 100% sure on that. I will scratch around more and then maybe tow it to the agents.
