New to Mazda. Giving my P5 a fresh paint job and a few upgrades.

Picked this up from a family member for a great price. It's an 03 with 170k miles. I've got all the history on the car including maintenance from the original owner.

I'm in Wisconsin so she rusted pretty bad. It's currently at the body shop getting new rear fenders cut and welded in. I removed the side door moldings and rear badges. Every inch of metal will be sanded for rust and refinished. Below are some pictures I've got so far. I should have it back within the next 5 days I'm very excited.

The wheels I bought for it are black. I haven't decided on what color to paint them yet. I'll have a better idea after I see the car completed.

I also bought a new shift knob right away. It has an eBay Forza exhaust and standard cold air intake with K&N. Ralco short shifter on the way. Seriously considering a retro fit while I've got the headlights apart too. Here is right before I replaced the front bumper before paint. The lenses are pretty bad.

Big thanks to all the help this page provided. I now have A/C on 2&3 and fogs w/o headlights on.

Welcome and congrats! You should definitely retrofit the headlights :) I've been very happy with my H1 mini retrofit.

Thank you! Can't wait to get it back. Drove it for a week and dropped it off at the body shop about two weeks ago now.

Definitely looking into the retrofit.

Here's some photos from the paint guy. Will clean everything up and get some proper photos asap.

I ditched the side moldings but kept the marker lights.

Cleaned up the hatch and I've got a fresh set of depos waiting to go in while I do the retrofit.

Seeing that's you're from Wisconsin and if you're near the milwaukee area, what shop did you go to for the paint?
I'm looking to get a respray in the spring

Paint looks good. Looks like the MSP Titanium Gray. Are you gonna retrofit the Depos or the Stockers?

Im going to restore and retrofit the stockers. I'll probably sell the depos when I'm done. Giddykong that's awesome you're from Milwaukee as well. A friend of mine does body work and he did the work at his shop. I can definitely get you two in touch so you can work something out. Here's a few more photos, I'm definitely happy with how it came out. Color has some blue/greens in it as well

I'm going to lose the stickers too, those were from the previous owner

That would be very much appreciated!
The color looks sick and looks very well done!

So my J Pipe decided to snap on me. Chances are my motor mounts are original so I'm sure that contributed to it. And that rust! Anyways I did some searching and found of plenty of info on the Ractive & obx but none on srs. Plenty of headers on eBay for around $80 but the srs is about $160 so I'm hoping it wouldn't have some of the fitment issues I read about.

Here's a few photos

By the time you're looking at changing out the stock exhaust manifold, look at getting a 626 header.

Well I'm looking right now, what would. The advantages be besides being a long tube header? From what I read sounds like there was oil pan clearance issues. Which is my concern with eBay exhausts as well

Actually it seems like the 626 header is crazy hard to find now. I'll be sticking with the short tube for now unless I can find one. I've got no issue modifying my midpipe to accept a longer header. Finding it might be the challenge.

Any info on the srs I posted? I'm ordering something today.

Don't know anything about SRS, but welds look good from what i can see.
And if it is identical to OBX, the only fitment issue I had was with my EGR tube.. nothing that a little force couldn't correct though.
