go buy the haynes or chilton manual for the protege it will walk you through some basic repair and maintenance if you need/want to do it yourself

i buy a haynes or chilton for every car i own just in case (even though i can usually find things easy) i have not needed it for this car yet but its by my toolbox just in case.

after a while you will get the hang of it
