New Mazda!

My 2014 Mazda 3 has the flip up HUD so I'm used to having it and appreciate it on that car that it projects directly to the windshield. Only issue I had was when wearing polarized sunglasses. I have rx Oakley sunglasses and it makes the HUD really dim. Ever since I tinted the windshield I never had any issues with it since. I love the HUD :)

I have the same issue as well with my polarized Oaks. I have to crank up the brightness on those days.

Another vote for the HUD here. I love it.

With brightness cranked up it works much better with polarized lenses. I have left it at night at that level too, but maybe it does some auto-dimming.

Regarding windshield replacement: isn't that covered by most insurance companies, minus a deductible?

Also, someone alluded to a tinted windshield. I didn't think that was legal. How dark can you go on a windshield? Just curious.

We are going the HUD route 17 or 18. What is the PEP safety features?

It sounds like the 18s are much better than the 17s?

As far as the windshield goes, my insurance covers it - no deductible, etc.

Every Mazda windshield is tinted.

Except across the top.
One of the few things on my wish-it-had-it list for my 2017 M6.
I miss that dark strip across the top that my previous cars had.
I'll probably add it on this spring.

It’s all tinted but no, they don’t have one of those rather nice shade bands that some cars have.
