New Enkeis

Time to switch out the stock steel wheels (15.75 lbs) for some lighter alloys. Would like some input on approx 12 lb 6" wheels with 195 Dunlop Star Specs weighing 18 lbs, or 13 lb 7" wheels with 205 Dunlop Star Specs weighing 21 lbs. Now using Star Specs with the stock wheels and like the tires. Car used as a daily driver, a few autocrosses (up to 6 & not concerned about results), and 12 track days per year. Question is whether the maybe gain in acceleration off the corners and top speed from the 4 lb per corner less weight is worth the maybe loss in grip in the corners, and drag from the wider tires and lower top speed. Car is otherwise stock except for a maybe rear bar during the year, and some improved braking. Any way to measure.

I would not go narrower than 6.5" wide. I vote 15x7 with 195's or 205's (more options with the 205's, and maybe a little cheaper too).
