New CX-5 engine for North America

Hi all, I stumbled upon a newspaper article this morning about the new CX-5 engine in North America.. It's still unconfirmed news, as Mazda will be keeping us in the dark until their LA auto show announcement.

Old news talked about in several other posts here. The 2.5 SkyActiv gas is to be introduced in the new Mazda 6 and may or may not be an option (also rumored is the 2.2 litre diesel offered already in other parts of the world) on the CX-5.

Yes, old news. The 2.5 liter has been reported to be coming in January just after the launch of the 6 by several reputable news outlets. The diesel is indeed all rumor at this point, but is very likely as well since it has been confirmed by Mazda to be offered on the 6 in the U.S. market. It would only make sense that if they are going to offer it in a family sedan that they would put it in a crossover SUV, especially considering VW has already announced the next Tiguan will have a diesel option.
