Need help with identifying engine.

Hi, I have a Mazda Familiar Sport20 Wagon. It is our equivalent to your Protege5 so I hope someone can help me identify the engine.

Reading through the post on this site and other research I see references made to an FS-DE, FS-ZE engine etc. One my engine block, it is engraved as FS 9. I see no one mentioning this engine anywhere and I cannot find anything on google.

Have a couple photos that I can show to help identify this engine.

I didn't receive a manual and I need to know what parts to buy when tuning it up etc.

I pulled one of the plugs out of the engine and they are NGK BCPR5ES plugs. I asked the a local parts dealer and he said those plugs are the wrong plugs and recommended ZFR5F or BKR5ES plugs. I need some guidance.

You have an FS-ZE engine. You can tell by the intake manifold, wiring, and header just by a visual inspection right off the bat. There are a bunch of other things, but at first glance that's what tells me it's a ZE.

Thanks for the info, I am located in Barbados.

Will research the FS-ZE specs and get the plugs etc to match.
