Correct. From what I understand there are minor differences in the MP3 ECU that squeeze the 10 extra horses out. The major difference is advanced timing based on the level of octane in the gas you use. 91 octane and above is recommended for the MP3 due to the fact that if you use anything less, the ECU will detect the knock, and retard the timing yielding you the same horsepower as a MP5, or Protege 2.0 ES!
