Mazda5 Owner's Quiz

Hello everyone, this is my first post on your forum. I'm from Quebec, one of the oldest members ClubProtegeQuebec.com. I convinced my to swap the 2000 Neon for a M5.

I'm taking delivery of my 5 in the next couple of days but I can answer most of those questions.

1. Which model / color / transmission / options / etc. did you get?
2008 GS / Stormy Blue Mica / AT5 / AC

2. Whereabouts are you located?
Saint-Jean sur Richelieu, 20 minutes southeast from Montreal, Quebec.

3. Is this your first Mazda?
No. Actually, this is my third. I had a 1992 Protege and I'm still driving my 1999 Protege LX

4. What other vehicles were you considering, and what would you have bought if the Mazda5 didn't exist?
Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix and Kia Rondo. Cargo capacity and fuel economy were the main criterias. ''Fun to drive'' was on my list though.

5. What were the main three reasons why you chose the Mazda5?
The zoom-zoom. For the weight, it handles well. Just before I testdrive the 08 M5, I drove a Pontiac Vibe. That became a no brainer that Mazda was the way to go.

6. If you could change three things about the Mazda5 and/or the options avaliable for it, what would they be?
- My '08 tail lights, the 06-07 looked better IMO.
- The stupid ''cold air duct'' for back seat. Was that so complicated to put some heat there also?
- I wish the cruise control could have been available in the GS.

7. Do you plan to make any modifications?
May be a SRI, front bumper lip, fogs, cruise control.

8. Have you seen any other Mazda5s on the road yet?
Each and every day. In Quebec province, Mazda sells half of canadians ''5'' .

9. What kind of reactions have you received from others on your new Mazda5?Can't wait to get opinions from family, friends and colleagues.

10. So, is the Mazda5 a MAV, a minivan, a space wagon, a microvan, crossover, toaster oven or what?I bit of everything I guess. I love ''monospace'' name like they say in Europe.

11. What question did I forget to ask?I think that this is my longest first post on a forum. I think I will enjoy this place.

microvan

I researched third row vehicles for nearly a year before I bought my Mazda5. I wanted something that wasn't insanely expensive and that had a third row. At the same time, I also wanted something a little *different* - not like every other minivan or SUV out there. I bought it in May 2007.

I LOVE my Mazda5 - there is no other car I'd rather have at this point in time.
