has anyone put 04-05 16" Miata rims on their 2?

I haven't seen those on a 2 yet. I've seen several styles of 14" Miata wheels and I've seen those sick 17" Mazdaspeed Miata wheels which look pretty amazing on the 2. Do you have a set? I personally think 16"s are the ideal size for the 2.

Not yet, I'm on the hunt for a set of these, so when it's time to replace the tires, I will just upgrade to these 16" miata rims.

I saw a few of those when I was over in Ireland and really liked them, which is why I want to put those Miata rims on my 2

Of those, the RE11A is better for your purposes, IMO.

That said, do consider the new Yokohama AD08R. That tire does everything well. See the recent Tire Rack testing of all the major extreme performance players.
