Mazda CX5 navigation System. can i replace for a garmin

doubtful, it would have to fit in the chassis that the fits into the nook on the dash, and it would have to have the same connections and support the headunit controls

also that appears to be strictly a gps sensor, not a navigation system, it most likely just outputs location data for someone to use to feed other devices

I just bought the CX5 touring awd, without the TOM TOM navi, because of the bad reviews. i'm looking for a different option and i found the Garmin GPS15 https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=158&pID=51048. does anyone know if i can use that chip?

....yeeeeah. Not even close. Your ONLY option is buying a gps like you see on people's windshields. You could also buy an aftermarket radio with a GPS built in but, at this time, thhere's no company making a kit to mount a radio in our vehicles

For the most part people like the Tom Tom Navi, I'm very happy with mine. Only a handful of people had issues with it.

what do you base this on? from what i've seen between 2 different mazda forums more people aren't happy with the tomtom than are...

i have a friend that has a iphone and he uses an app call Motionx which displays directly to his car display (he owns the cx7). this app is not available in for android phones. do you guys know of any app out there that would do the same.

I have the app on my iphone, if anyone knows how to make it display to the car please let me know. Thanks!

does you car has a dedicated USB port for iphone? I know my friend has a USB port in his car and once he plugs it it automatically works. Am not sure if it will work with the Bluetooth option on the car. I will ask my friend to try.

so i just find a company that allows you to integrated your android device with your head unit. i can't test it because my android device is not support it. am getting a new device in a couple of weeks, but figure i will post the site may be someone will test it. if you do please write a review. this will allow you to have full functionality of your device through the touch screen in your car.

Dude, that kit is 600 dollars. You could get a nice double din unit with built in nav for that price and most of the new ones integrate android/iphone automatically.

that doesn't look like it interacts with our head unit, looks like its a head unit of its own...a replacement stereo as it were
