I have a 2008 Mazda CX-7 Touring with absolutely nothing but the standard features installed. Recently I tried to turn on my A/C and I got nothing. After refilling it I took it to my mechanic and he told me it is either an ambient temperature sensor that is malfunctioning/missing or a bad clutch on my compressor (obviously I would rather have to replace the sensor as it is only $20). However he could not tell me if the car has an ambient temperature sensor as Mazda only seems to give that information out to dealers and not to everyday mechanics. So my question is: did the 2008 Mazda CX-7 Touring come standard with an ambient temperature sensor (so far the internet is saying yes, but it isn't a definite answer) and if it does where is this located?
P.S. I do have a plug on the front passenger side above the radiator that has nothing plugged into it which seems to be the right size and shape for a sensor.
