A little slower response on the low end (before 3K rpm), but you get more in the mid-high range. Also, gives you TONS of space under the manifold so you can access the back of the block from the top of the engine instead of having to crawl under and twist your arm in awkward ways (makes changing the oil filter a breeze, as well as accessing the EGR pipe, oil pressure sender, etc.). And the 626 IM also requires a 00-02 626 EGR tube as the Protege one routes differently.
Definitely worth it in my opinion.. I've had one on my MP3 for years now and have had no regrets about it.
