MAZDA 626 GE
Hello everyone! My name is Lukas and I live in Poland, I want to show you my car. Have a look on the description and few pictures and feel free to share your opinion about my ride.
SEASON 2007/2008:
I want to show you my Mazda 626 GE with E-SPEC 4 cylinder engine (1.8). Mileage is now about 140 000 miles since 1992, when the car was produced. On stock engine it has got 105 BHP and 155NM. With few modifications I earned 125BHP and 170NM, proven on dyno. I never want to change anything outside, as you can see I kept my word. The only changes are: 16" wheels with TOYO T1-R tires, 6000K HID lamps and clear side indicators - that's all. Every other thing outside is fully original. Steering wheel from 2 gen MX-6 was my favourite one since I first saw it. In this case I decided to buy it, then to cover it with a two-color leather. I must say that I'm realy satisfied with the result. With leather shift knob and chrome rings around gauges, it make my interior unique and IMO not exaggerated over stock. Audio is quite good so I left it stock, except a new Alpine CDE 9850Ri radio. I also upgrade my brake system. Quick Stop Pro drilled/slotted rotors with Posi-Quiet pads are very enought for 125BHP and 1140kg (2500 lbs). For last season my suspension setup was leaning on Eibach Pro-Kit springs with stock KYB struts (gas on front and oil on the back).
SEASON 2009:
For new season I've changed my suspension for Sprint springs on Tokico Illumina struts. I also painted my valve cover in gloss black colour. Engine is now on 5W30 MOTUL Power Racing oil. Interior lightning was improved with V-Leds "cool blue" leds. There is also important change in transmission - Fidanza SS - witch makes a lot of difference compare to the OEM one. A litle cosmetic was done to the exterior. I removed orange filter from front and side indicators. Original orange bulbs were replaced with special, chrome ones.
SEASON 2009 - new ideas:
Later this year I decided to make my modifications a bit... more visible. I bought new set of rims and tires. Kosei K1-TS in 17x7 size with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 205/45R17 tires. But when I put them on I wasn't very satisfied. They're beautifful themselves, but they don't realy fit GE body. So I decided to buy new wheels - Enkei rims from Lancer EVO IX. With 205/45 Hankkok tires they make my car look sick IMO. Perfect width and offset without spacers and other crap. Brakes are different too: Mazda 6 3.0 V6 sized rotors from KVR (J-Hook in silver plating), and stock sized rotors, in the back, but also from KVR (J-Hook in silver plating too). Of course front calipers are dedicated for OEM Mazda 6s ones. I've chosen EBC Red Stuff brake pads for both axles. Stock brake lines were replaced by Corksport SS ones, and filled with sport MOTUL RBF 660 fluid. My suspension setup is leaning on Sprint springs and Tokico Illumina struts. Next year I will change this springs for stiffer Megan Racing product to increase handling. I'm planing to get a rear strut bar too. After almost one month in body shop I have my car with new shiny paint, without andy dents or schratches. Some mods were made in interior. Original shift knob was replaced by Greddy Counter Weightned one. It fits perfectly and, because of its increased weight, makes shifting with Fidanza SS even more fun. I have also changed my intake system for CAI. I haven't check it on dyno, but comparing to BMC CDA airbox, this operation was worth it, esspecially if you're talking about sound.
SEASON 2010
For this year I improove the car audio system, add 10mm spacers on front and rebuild the CAI intake system. Let's begin with the stereo. Speakers panels are shaped to fit the 6.5" Helix RS3 Competition woofers under the custom made grilles. Tweeters of this passive system are now placed on the A-Pillars. Crosovers are placed in the trunk with the DLS A5 amplifier, Helix capacitor, and JL Audio 10W3v3-4 subwoofer. All car, so - floor, trunk, doors etc ... is sound dampened with Dynamat Extreme. Head unit of this system is Alpine CDA 9835R. All this stuff is connected together with Eagle cables. Not forget to mention that the battery is moved to the trunk, mainly because rebuilded CAI system, which is my 2-nd mod of this year. Last, and only one that made the difference outside, is a set of Ichiba 10mm spacers for front EVO IX wheels.
SEASON 2011
This year I decided to add some power to my engine. First off all, the stock FP bottom was replaced by FS one (2l, 9:1 comp, 85mm bore, 93mm stroke). The second step was to fit a set of FS-ZE pistons (10.4 comp) inside it. After that, inside my already ported head (FP and FS had the same engine heads), we placed both - FS-ZE intake camshaft and Corksport exhaust camshaft. For now engine ECU is not yet tuned on ECU Master DET II piggy'back (which was installed almost 2 years ago), so for now I'm driving on old fuel maps and old inginion settings. Probably next month I will find someone who will set up my ECu correctly, and then, I'll be able to post some dyno resoults.
What is worth saying, both FP and FS have the same compression ratio but different stroke. Because of theirs same bore you can use FS pistons in FP to decrease compression or use FP pistons in FS engine to increase it.
