I just bought myself a 1990 Mazda 323 hatchback with the automatic 4 speed transmission (was told that was a rare option?) a couple weeks ago. Anyways, shortly after i bought it, it would only use 2nd and 3rd gear, i had no 1st gear and no overdrive,and the dreaded hold light is flashing. Long story short i had no clue what was wrong so i took it to a trusted mechanic who works on Mazda's (I'm a diesel mechanic and foreign cars aren't exactly my area of expertize haha ). He told me it needs a new transmission control unit and an inhibitor switch/Solenoid valve switch. Ive looked all over the internet and i haven't found ANYTHING (bang). I was wondering if anyone here could give me some information on these parts and maybe have any clue where the heck i could find them at?
