Mazda 2 Discounts are MASSIVE (!!!)

I'm considering trading my Aquatic Blue in for a Clearwater Blue... from one dealer:

2012 Mazda 2s are being discounted @ $3000.00 off MSRP (if you ask for $3500, I'm sure they'd say yes)

2013 Mazda 2s are being discounted @ $2000.00 off MSRP (if you ask for $2500, I'm sure they'd say yes)

Nice discount on the 2. It does give the dealers more incentive to move the 2 with some margin to work with.

I bought my 2012 Sport MT on Oct 7, 2012 for $12,999. That included the price for pearl white and tint.

I wonder what things will look like in the spring...with a 3-month lead time, think dealers would still be able to order the 2013's in February? Discounts like this make me think that the current-gen 2 won't be around by then.

What are they offering for your trade?

Nothing yet - they told me they'd have to see my car. I'm guessing they'll offer a low of $11,000.00 to a high of $12,500.00.

When I bought mine in december last year, it was 15,900. I walked out the door paying 12,900. Not too shabby.
