Mac vs PC

While it is true that percentage wise, they have less hardware failures
is that true? don't they use the exact same hardware manufacturers as everyone else?

also something to consider beyond the technical side of things (since, let's be honest, if you're asking this question any $500 laptop will do and there's no need to spend $1200 on a mac) is the negative stereotype associated with mac owners.

i've been a pc guy all my life...till this year when i bought a mac book pro for work related projects.

never going back.

neither is better. it's a matter of preference. a mac can get a virus and can slow down from spyware and other crap just like a pc (the weak link here is the user not the system). a pc can do graphics and videos just as well as a mac. they both do the same thing they just do it slightly differently so it's really which do you feel more comfortable with.

if i were shopping for a new computer now i'd be looking at a smaller windows laptop. small and light is key. for home i would have a monitor, docking station, keyboard and mouse. windows because it's cheaper for general usage (many good options sub-$1,000 that surf the web and do normal computer functions just fine). if i actually needed the extra processing power that would put price closer to that of a mac then it'd be more of a tough choice but me and 90% of most computer users will be perfectly fine with any of the $600ish laptops out now.

Thank You :)

That video is hilarious.hhahahahaha

"He was one of the lucky ones that spent 45 minutes sending an email to his friend."

get a mac...join us.

lol no viruses on a mac? LMAO..they had an article a couple days ago. its is now recommended to get an antivirus. idk..i had pc for my whole life. grew up around apples tho..(mac=apple?) in school. i hated it..crashed so many times, many big failures and i still remember that computer with the XX face. cant stand the one click button too.

but in the end, like everyone says, it all comes down to preference.

but yea... i've been a PC guy since i started messing with computers... i have a macbook pro and i feel that windows just runs better on it... cuz i rarely go to the OSX side...

i work at the computer center at Hawaii Pacific University.... and everyone has to come here to get there wireless setup.

PC = Much Problems from 20min to several hours to configure
MAC = 5min or less

my brother's year and a half old Macbook had a hard drive failure that resulted in the loss of all his data and his DVD drive is now acting up on him. If I had that issue, I could just buy another on ebay for $50 and swap it out. Happy hunting!

I did just that. My Macbook's DVD burner started acting up. I bought a replacement on eBay and swapped it out myself.

Newer Macs aren't as 'unopenable' (I just made up a word!) as they used to.

Well, there might be some software that will only run on Mac or PC. (Yes, I know about running Windows on a Mac; it's for noobs.)

Saying that a Mac is more reliable is garbage. It's a gamble either way.

Other than that, I have no preference. People need to get over that a Mac looks cool. I personally hate Apple more than I hate Microsoft. So again, it's a preference.

Pretty much after buying a number of Apple products, I am let down by the company. But some people swear by it, and, therefore, pay the premium price.

You know, I haven't watched the simpsons for several years, but that clip was brilliant!

Doesnt matter!!! I have both, they both work fine, no problem. As long as you can access mazdas247, thats all that matters.(cool)

i don't see how there can really be a fight. they are now the same machine. they use pentium processors and the OS in linux based. the mac and pc separation days are over. mac is now just another brand of a pc. if you don't believe me, look into their specs.
