Ignoring Sears and Thule's advice I went ahead and purchased the mid-priced ($189) model from sears. For the ride home it will fit easily inside the car with the 2nd and 3rd row seats down
They were right though, it didn't fit. In order to use their "quick release" system you have to drill 2 new holes on each side for the back rail. This was really easy to do and it now fits on their perfectly and safely. I used the metal plates as a guide, aligned them with the real position of the roof rack and drilled the holes. It's about an inch further towards the back than the last factory holes.
Thats if you want to attach it to the roof rails, I dont know if you could attach it with hooks to the door seals or not. Now I just have to find a place to store the thing in the garage, they are rather large...
