True but still be interesting. I don't know how hard you have to beat on it to have it fail at less than 10k miles on it. I'd be proud of that.

i think the people with blown lsd with an average of 10 to 30k miles were from abuse. anything higher than that is considered normal wear and tear.

just my opinion. mines lasted 2 to 3x longer then some of the people here. so it all depends on how you drive the car to begin with.

i saw a thread here about mazda having a diffrent model of lsd now than the ones they have in our msp right now..

is there a way to know which one we got? like turning one wheel and the other one will turn opposit way??

i've found that in cold weather that the new one seems to stick locked a bit and the old one did not... when i say cold i mean like -10 deg f.

Who wants to take all the mileage and get an average to see when this fails. It would be kind of cool to know but not sure it's worth it.

i did this a while ago. the average was about 29,000 miles. could have changed now that i see there are some higher mileage cars added to the list (mine included!).

you can add me to the list of blown lsd's 71,346 miles and 2 yrs of autocross and well over 200hp to the wheels. im actually surprised it lasted me this long....but thanx to it i got new clutch fidanza fw and a welded lsd and all new bearings.

what happens if you put on a P5 tranny? is it the same ratios? it might be less effective in traction but hell it would last longer... right?

mine went about two mounts ago and ive been waiting for mazda to confirm if it would be covered under warrenty , it went at 41,000 . Mazda is telling me that it wont be covered because of some aftermarket parts, has anyone else ran into this problem

You and probably 90% of everyone on the list. I'd fight them hard on this one.

To me, the money is gone, I have a working car now, and I'll never buy another Mazda after this.

If this were something that caused injuries, then I'd be all-in because then it adds a different weight to Mazda's inaction. Otherwise, the only injury it seems to have caused are dents in everyone's wallets.

Curious what the lawyer says though...
