Lexus NX200t transfer case failure right in front of me

CX-9 2013 AWD
I was driving behind what looked like a relatively new Lexus NX200t AWD and all of a sudden it started spewing a line a black oil, I knew right away it was the transfer case, the smell was so foul like burnt garlic, I've serviced my CX-9 transfer case before so I knew exactly what it was, the Lexus started to shudder and I can hear grinding sound and see smoke coming from underneath, the driver pulled to the side and knew something was obviously wrong.

When I got to my office, I Goggled to see if NX200t transfer case issue was a common problem, it doesn't seem so, so maybe just a oddball event.

Anyway, came across this, Lexus owners have it bad too with their infotainment issues:

The Lexus infotainment system issues are more serious than the cx9 reboot issues. They lost gps audio and phone connectivity until battery it's disconnected for 5 min.

Yes - I've heard of the Lexus infotainment issues. Also heard Lexus was working on a fix. I believe they announced it on their twitter page.
