Learning about Audio components and installation

I'm having a hard time trying to understand some of the posts in this forum. Is there a site or book that you guys recommend that would explain:

1) Different components of car audio system and how they relate to each other
2) Basic installation and hook up techniques
3) what to watch out for
etc

And "The Car Stereo Cookbook" is supposed to be a great resource for beginner knowledge. From what I hear, it's written in very easy-to-read terms.
