Just Got a Set of General Altimax HP's

Can someone confirm whether the Altimax HP has a rim protector? TireRack says it does, at least in the 215/50/17 size I've asked about. Additionally, their pictures appear to show a rim protector. But, I've asked General and they say no, the Altimax HP does NOT include a rim protector. So, I'm confused.

With only 3k miles on our MZ5 and two curbing incidents to the wheels already...I want to go a tire size wider that also has a rim protector to try to keep these wheels from getting trashed quickly.

UPDATE - Sorry, have been VERY busy! Since the weather warmed up, have noticed a HUGE difference in NVH (for the better). Weird, but seems that when the temp is 75 F or above, the tires ride so much better. Just makes me dread the cooler months ahead.

Never noticed this in any other tire/car in my over 20 years of driving.

yup, mine ride vary rough when cold. I have 10,000 miles on mine
now and when I need a new set I will deff. pick up another pair. good tire
for a great price
