I have no EGR Valve?

Looks like 99-00 1.6L engines did not have EGR valves.

My 2000 1.6L doesn't have one

Still don't understand why some 99-00 1.6l have the EGR and yet mine and yours does not have an egr system?

I have a 2000 LX with 1.6L and it indeed has the EGR valve. I have had it replaced twice, but the dreaded code still comes back.

Hey guys, I have a 00 Protege with 1.6l. I just purchased the vehicle and it wont pass e-test. My mechanic suggested and egr. So I started looking for it, and ordered one from my local parts store. But turns out I can't seem to find it either. I live in Canada and I only ordered a regular replacement, which actually looks like the us version. I dont have any coolant hoses going to it.

My question is, what is this?

The EGR output port would be right there no? (sorry for stealing your pic lol)

Kind of... I think I was the first guy in Quebec to try the mazdaspeed6 front brakes 4 years ago! Its near to 13" disks... It brakes as hell!

This is way late, but thank you for this thread! I have a 99 Protege LX 1.6 and was going out of my mind. There is no EGR on mine either. Makes no sense how some seem to have it and others don't.
