How to - PADDLE SHIFT Retrofit (Mazda CX-5 2.0)

i just installed this paddle shifter on my cx-5 (2014 AWD grand touring).
It works perfect and very smooth just like mazda 6~

let me know if you need any help.

Definitely would like to hear what is involved with regard to wiring. I ordered the paddles and back cover last week thinking that this should be a simple plug-n-play mod. If you had to do any additional wiring I would sure like to know exactly what is required. Mine would be on a 2014 Mazda 6.

HI Guys,

I bought it from China. the seller got the parts from Japan. i spoke to the seller and he offered me a very good deal $1100RMB(china dollar) which is $177.6USD. it takes some time to install for the first time, but not hard at all. shift very fast (feel like dual clutch). no need to do anything on ECU, just plug and works. It works on manual mode and auto mode. on the auto mode, you may shift anytime you want. it will go back to D drive after few seconds. very fun !!!
i spoke to the seller. if anyone interested to get it, we can buy as a group. i can see if I can get better price or save on the shipping cost.
i live in Davis,CA if you are around my area, i would be very happy to help you.~

Maybe you could point us to that seller, write a diy, explain what exactly has to be done, etc...
That kit, doesn't look like the ones, I have seen in the past. It's much bigger.

So we're the paddle shifters you installed for a cx-5? Does the Japanese or other Asian markets have paddle shifters? I thought ylu could use the parts off the mazda6 for this retro fit? If so there shouldn't be any issue getting the parts or high shipping from Japan. Maybe you could post up part numbers and a how-to

my paddle shifter is same as the OP. this paddle shifter kit is originally from Mazda3/6, so it is mazda part. it came with the paddle, back piece and couple pre-wired wires. you dont need to cut any original wire. the big grey paddles did not come with the paddle shifters. i added it just for fun. i dont really like it because it is too heavy for the paddle shifter springs.
Asian CX-5s dont come with paddle shifter like USA.

i will try to make a video to show you guys. maybe it would be easier for you guys to understand.

That is awesome, thank you for that video.
How about some info about the seller?
