Hissing after A/C Recharge

Girlfriend's 02 LX was blowing warm air for the past year (recharged it last year, worked for a month or so), so I decided it was time for another recharge. After the recharge we drove to her grandparents for dinner (it was 2-3 miles down the road from where she was housesitting) and we started to hear a hissing noise (what I assume was refrigerant leaking out) coming from behind the dash (not in the engine compartment).

I am assuming its the expansion valve, can anyone confirm this, or let me know it could be something else?

If its not the expansion valve it could be a leak from overcharging, as long as its blowing cool air you shouldn't recharge it

It couldn't be an overcharge, because it was blowing warm/hot air when on A/C prior to the recharge. I am almost positive its the expansion valve.
