Well, we know that the closest thing to our MSP is the 02 Protege OR a Ford Focus engine part wise.

Maybe I've missed something over the years, but what engine parts can we exchange with a Focus? I've never seen a single one.

Yah, duh, KD, Ford = Mazda , so following that logic Focus = Protege and therefore all parts interchangable.

Thermostat change at 44,000 miles interesting.

That's exactly what the dealership said...He couldn't believe it went out that quick, but sure enough, that was the problem.

2K3 MSP - Alex, do you happen to have a picture of where the bracket had wore a hole in the hose? Generally speaking if there is a hole; you won't be seeing boost. We're definately interested in seeing pictures of this to see if we can provide you with a solution; as you're the first person to have encountered this. None of the other guys running our FMIC set-ups have had this issue.
