Grinding?!

hey who else has a mp3 that grinds in gears? mine startin to grind at 3rd when i rev high in second n sometimes i grind in 2nd who else?!?!

everyone... there is only one cure. better tranny fluid.

some like the GM/Penzoil Syncromesh
some like the Redline products (either the MT-90 or the shockproof line)

I personally went with the Shockproof, and will recommend Redline Lightweight Shockproof every time.

yea it really grinds i have to shove it in there i no its bad but i dotn lose a race... hehe at least to civics hehe

the griding noise must be very loud, cause whenever i grind, cars close to me laugh and point at me (sad1)

yeah, its annoying, but it will go away withbetter fluid. its been discussed many times here. its specific to the G5M-R tranny that we have. they upgraded the tranny in 2003 to the G15M-R tranny so this problem went away

i've been wanting to change the tranny fluid ever since i gto the ss, maybe one day i'll get around to it

I found it only grinds when you try to up-shift too fast, I just let RPMs drop a little before I go all the way into third. You don't lose much time and you save your tranny.

I have tRedline MT90 and Ultra Light Gear Oil and it works like a charm!
