That's a certainty. The main thing is the person you're dealing with, too. I try to be nice about it, as I'm not so deluded by the industry. I just want to sell cars and if people aren't interested in what I have, then I'll try to point them in the right direction. There are more than a few jerks that ruin it for everyone else and I've seen it first hand. Whatever the case, it sounds like you did damn good on your first buy, because all my dealership/managers were willing to discount the SP23 was $200 if you were lucky, but apparently you got great money on the trade.

It was my second buy, but my first one doing it alone. I think I just got lucky that their mechanic who inspected my trade-in was clueless. He got in, drove it around the building and shut it off. If he would have left it on for more than a minute, or popped the hood, he (or anybody) would see the damage, and the car would have gone up in smoke. Just the smell of burning radiator coolant would have scared most people off.
