Ive been meaning to post my current build.

Im building a 1979 Chevy Monte Carlo. Its totally a budget build and my goal is to come in under $3000 total and run about a 15 to 16 seconds in 1/4 mile.

Bought the car in PA for $1500. Had a 305 with rebuilt TH350 with shift kit stock rear, the exhuast was hacked. manifolds with EGR into 2 inch pipe into a 3 inch pipe with 2 chamber flow masters back into some 2 inch pipe. it was all filed with weld. horrible.

I bought a 1988 suburban for $300 for the motor and to scrap and make some $$ on it. It will definitly help with the budget it.

Parts bought:

Comp cam: .480 lift
2400- 2600 B&M stall converter
650 Holly double pumper
K&N air cleaner with xtreme top
gaskets
Hooker Headers

other parts:

2 1/2 exhuast with 2 chamber flow masters I had from a 79 malibu I had 10+ years ago (see it didnt go to waste)
350 motor out of the suburban 9.3:1 compression for now.

its all complete. Running and driveable. Been cruising around. Testing and tuning.

got an exhaust leak to fixed. nothing big. and adjust the timing.

picked up a set of cragar SS rims (15 x 10) for the rear. trying to track down some skinnies for the front. might have to get those new.

Ive been slacking i know. I picked up some rims with almost new slicks on them.

currently:
Im in the process of putting in a manual steering box
putting the battery in the trunk
redoing the steering suspension
fixing a blown out header gasket

I got to stop lending my bro money so I can buy a rear for the damn car....

Here are some more recent pics. Im in the process of having a motor built for the car. Sold the bike and flipped a few cars and saved my money.

guages done

did a little holeshot drags

threw on some aluminum heads and roller rockers among other things. Really opened her up

and recently I stripped and por-15 the floor boards

and here it is painted.

threw down a new carpet. also redid the headliner in black from the white

and redoing the interior in a flat black.

now im starting to put it back together
