Gauge Cluster

Recently I was working on my gauge cluster and yes, as retarded as I am, I broke the gas needle, dont ask how. I've been fine for a while because I just pay attention to the gas light. Anyways, I was wondering: If I were to buy a used cluster from an auto wrecking yard or one offline, would I have to match up mileage as much as possible or will it automaticaly transfer my miles onto the new one? I figure it probably wont but I can hope. I'm just tired of not know how much gas I have. Another suggestion, can I take it somewhere were they can just fix the gas gauge itself? Thanks.

you have no control over the mileage. Whatever is on the cluster is what you get. If your lucky you have less mileage if you can find a newer cluster
