From LX to MSP- my build.

WELCOME, Everyone!!
Let's start this off.


In June of 2003 I went to the dealership to buy a Protege 5. although, i wasn't complaining. It was my first car and I loved it.

Shortly after getting it i got antsy and wanted to add something extra to it, so, i went and painted the interior.Didn't looks so great, but, what can you do.

Shortly after, i wanted new s*** for the car, so i sent it to a body shop to get some work done. well, it is a mess, but you gotta keep on..the best things in life take time.

this all happened over about 3 years. it STARTED black mica, but was in accidents and so on. so i spray bombed it. now i'm getting the car painted type R white-faded to msp sunlight silver, pearl blue clear coat.should look ok when done.

Goodluck with this project, you are very calm, in waitng for this to be put all back together. Once you get the engine back in, and every else important, get the car paint stripped and sanded and get a real paint job hoping youc an afford it after all the hard work.

well...i've put a lot of money into it..so this is a rough estimate...I bought the car brand new in 03, $21,000.00 after everything
5500.00-motor/springs/tranny
2500.00-headwork,misc parts,shop time
3000.00-parts off the forum
I have another...2000.00 from parts off the forum coming
about $3000.00 in misc parts i need to order, plus tune.including some kind of EMS.

then i have my paint job..about 3000.00.


so i'm guessing when everything is said and done...

$21,000.00-car + 19,000.00 = $40,000.00 WOAH..i''ve never looked at it like this before..damn..oh well it'll be my masterpiece when i'm done.

I'm definatly gonna go full force once i sell my condo shortly. i'm hoping to get it done by december/early this coming year. i wanna drive my car i'm not gonna cut any corners.

I just see pics with a cf hood in one and one with lambo doors and one with bucket seats. You dont have any with a 100% complete uptodate pic maybe with the car washed? I see like a diary and you need the finished product pics at the end. Still waiting for them because it looks nice from the 'piece pics.' Maybe snap a couple this weekend if you have time. imo. (first)

well all the new ones are at the bottom. i just put this thread up yesterday. i WISH i could get new pictures of the thing done..but it'll be a bit. i will definatly post progress of this thing as i go. next, i install a TT, new FMIC and pipes, put the valve cover back on, and hopefully clean up some of the wiring, and i will be adding my own set of grounding wires...this has been such a headache.heh. thanks for looking though. i'll try and snap some shortly.
