I post this in our random thread and I got some positive response. For the past several years, FOX 8 News have been helping get supplies for students and school districts that don't have enough money to get paper, pencils, pents, crayons, etc. I figure that we can offer our support by going to Dollar Stores, and getting the supplies needed.
I figure we can get a group of cars to show up at some point during the day to drop off the supplies and show the community that we are not a bunch of "street racers" and that we care about our community. Here is a list of what is needed:
Here is the list of new school supplies requested:
wide or college rule filler paper or notebooks
number 2 pencils
24 count box of crayons
construction paper
8 1/2 by 11 copy paper
kids scissors
markers
colored pencils
erasers
rulers
boxes of tissue
anti-bacterial soap and wipes
backpacks
If you have a business and have folders or stationary that are no longer needed, drop it off on August 8. Teachers can make use of any type of paper or materials for teaching in a classroom.
If you can't make the run and want to donate money to help out, you can paypal me funds and I will pick up the supplies for you. We can discuss the drop off and the time of delivery of the supplies at the meet on Sunday.
