so i made a little more progress. got the air, whippers, side skirts off.
getting rid of this mass is going to help with air flow.
i bled the line at this point which seemed like an easy enough of a task.
lots of ac lines running around the bay. going to be a lot cleaner without.
more lines
and the worst of the lines. i went out and bought some quick disconnects. not so quick. turned out the flange or what ever you call it that wraps around the seals and spring was corroded. a little brake cleaner made this a whole hell of a lot easier. simply sprayed and twisted till it spun free. i then used the plastic quick disconnect to pop the spring and the line pulled right out. by far the most aggravating part of removing the AC. the quick disconnect cost $2.50 from a local parts shop and came as a kit with different size rings. I suppose I could have cut the line but I didn't want to ruin it for some reason.
on to the whippers - since i am going to paint the bay i figured it would be best remove all the wiper components starting with the whippers and whatever you call the trim piece that covers up the arms.
trim piece - gone
motor for the whippers
motor for the whippers - gone
fluid reservoir
fluid reservoir - gone
side skirt removal
side skirts - gone
beer - gone
next up i pull the DP and turbo set up so i can get closer to pulling the motor.
