New here, just working on putting at 2012 3.7 into my wife's 2008 CX9. (Don't ask, I don't want to tell... haha) The yard I got the new motor from said that the Harmonic Balancer and Upper Intake need to be changed out to make this work. My question is, the Balancer/Pulley off of the 08 motor is definitely different than the one that came on the 2012. The 2008 is much heavier and seems to have a balancer in it, where as the 2012 appears to mostly just have a pulley function. When I look at RockAuto the balancer that shows is good for 2007-2015 and appears to just be a pulley..... Do I need to swap the balancer/pully for the 2008 one or will the 2012 one that comes on it work fine, all other dimensions appear to be correct. If I do have to swap them is there a certain direction or way to put it back on? Thanks!
