yeah it does work...there was a escort owner on here...going on about it a while ago, I will search for the thread...You have to use the Protege's shift forks though, with Escort gears or something (which are actually still sourced from Mazda of Japan)...but you can play around with the ratio's pretty easily...
I don't understand the MTX-75 box stuff though...We essentially have a Probe's gearbox...case is similar, and internals are identical for the four cylinder models I think (the PGT's were barely different)...so I guess the MTX-75 is a Ford case, with mazda internals or something...
