Car in shop, trouble diagnosing, battery light

Wow. I picked up the car, and all seems to be fine. I'm sitting here Idling with my wipers on, my rear defogger on, all the headlights, and the radio and the RPM needle barely flinches. Everything seems to be getting full power. And the problem? Looks like it was a cracked intake hose after all. My theory about what happened, is when I saw the battery light two days ago, I opened up the engine and pulled the air intake out to look at the sensor. It was probably already cracked. When I put it back and started driving again, the crack got even bigger, which is what caused all the stalling.

Still doesn't explain what caused the battery light to go on in the first place, but the car seems to be running better now than it has in years. He also said that one of my spark plug wires was causing visible sparks to Arc near the engine, but he cleaned everything up there as well.

I appreciate everyone's help, I wish I knew what the problem was that caused the battery light to go on, but oh well!
