Can you fit 225/50/16 +35 on a Protege5?

Can you fit 16x7 225/50/16 +35 on a P5 without rubbing on the fender? My p5 is not lowered

I tried installing mine yesterday and they didn't just rub, they tore the sit out of my tires!.......I have been told that rolling the fenders will fix it,so I am renting a fender roller today for 25 bucks and crossing my fingers,cause the wheels look just sic on the car!
