Not sure what it is. It came out when i was trying to put my cv axle back into its housing. I tried to look into the housing to see where it goes but I couldn't figure it out. My cv axle is back in place, but now I have the piece no idea what is it but it came out of the housing. Any ideas? Thanks!

Front or rear, inner or outer?
It could be part of the seal where the axle goes into the differential. If so then you'll need to replace that seal, else there will be a leak.
