Hello All,

I am the proud new owner of a 2012 Mazda2. I plan on documenting my full stereo build up in this thread. I have been doing custom audio for several years ( you can see my site at www.uberstealthaudio.com)

Anyway, i was just hoping to get some feed back from everyone.

So far the only thing i have decided on is:

Head unit :pioneer AVH-P3400BH
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_42782_Pioneer-AVH-P3400BH.html

Dash Kit: Scosche MA1547B

Sub : e5.10 Subwoofer

What harness is everyone using for the radio? steerning wheel controls?

Also, does anyone know speaker sizes and depths for the doors?

You should check out www.crutchfield.com for that stuff. It will also tell you what will and will not fit the car. Also, free shipping AND they will include your radio harness, antenna adapter and dash kit at no extra charge. Might save you a couple bucks. I can't help you with the steering wheel controls but I would bet they have something you can use. Congrats on the purchase. I've been thinking about getting the Pioneer 2400 or 3400 at some point for mine.

The only place I've been able to find a steering wheel controls adapter is on corksport.com

OK, so i got all my parts ordered for the head unit.

Dash Kit: Scosche MA1547B - 41$
AXXESS ASWC - 44$
Pioneer CD-IU51V AV iPod/iPhone Cable - 39$
Metra 40-HD10 Honda 2005-Up Antenna Adapter - 9$
Rear View License Plate Backup CMOS Camera - 13$
MicroBypass Parking Brake Override Bypass for Pioneer - 10$
Metra 70-7903 Radio Wiring Harness - 5$
Pioneer AVH-P3400BH - 328$

so total so far is 489$ for a in dash DVD w/ back up camera and the ipod cable that lets you play video from ipod to head unit. Not to shabby

Amp, speakers and sub is undecided. I just got some Motegi 15x7 Traklite 1.0's from craigslist so i need to put tires on those so the other parts will have to wait.

I went with JL all around and Kenwood for my deck. I didn't see a ton of difference between the Scosche and Metra dash kit (I went metra) and the AXXESS steering wheel control works FLAWLESSLY.

JL has a couple of amps that will drive a small sub and all 4 spkrs from a single unit.. might be a nice compact way to go. The XD700/5 comes to mind. I love JL's mid-highs, and depending on budget the TR, C2 or C3 would all be great. Kenwood has some nice sounding mid-highs too.

For subs tho... Nothing does it like JL. There is no other sub for me but JL for car audio. It doesn't even matter what series. Comparing apples to apples JL smokes for subwoofers.
