Battery Question

Just wondering does it matter what kind of car battery I'm able to replace it with? I was told it really doesn't matter as long as its not one of those SUV/Mini van (larger) batteries. I found a car battery on kijiji that came off a civic, he was telling me that it will not fit in the Protege 5 :/ which got me confused.

Thanks!

as long as it fits and has at least the minimum cold cranking amps specified for the car not really. even brand does not matter much most batteries on the market are johnson controls (autozone, orielly's, walmart, pepboys ect all have different names over Johnson controls batteries) just make sure the battery is not older than a year if buying new. (group 35, the size for our car is a popular size so that should not be an issue) the only other 2 makers of batteries are exide (hard to find anymore) and interstate, do not go to a used battery place and get a $30 battery they are junk rebuilds or junk used ones!
