Autofest Northwest

:
Mazda6 i
What: Autofest Northwest (formerly know as 'International mazda meet')

When: Thursday, July 30th (track day at Portland International Raceway)
Friday, July 31st (Hang out at Autotown Mazda's new 'Revolution' dealership?, Friday night drags @ PIR)
Saturday, August 1st (dyno/tuning/install, BBQ, car show@ Surgeline Tuning)

Hotel: I want to find a nice hotel that will be willing to give discount rates to MazdasNW.com members

Who can come: Anyone, so if you know someone that is interested in tracking their car, encourage them to sign up. As of now, I am only posting this on mazda forums, but in April I will be posting this on other car forums, so if you want to keep this a mazda only event and you want to make sure you will have a spot, I highly recommend signing up before April.

Track day cost: Drivers:$195, observers:$10 at the gate

Driver registration: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/AB8E9D4D-A25D-A41E-56A19A74B9EF0B2A

We will have the track from 9am-4pm

We only have room for 20 new drivers(those who have attended 0-2 track days), and 20 intermediate drivers(those who have attended 3-6 track days) and 20 experienced drivers(those who have attended 6+ track days)

Every driver must have a Helmet with a Snell rating of 2000, or m2000

Tech inspection: The first tech inspection, will be at Adrenaline Racing in Lake Oswego. It will cost $25 (Link here:http://www.arautoservice.net/)it will be up to you to make an appointment with them before the track day. If you are not close to Portland you can get a tech inspection at a local shop, as long as they call Adrenaline Racing to find out what to look for during the tech inspection. The second tech inspection will be at the track. If you passed the first tech inspection, but fail the track day inspection, you will not be allowed to race and you will not get a refund unless you can fix your car and pass tech.

Sponsors:
Local: About 6 shops interested
Big: Now that I have a date set I will be able to go after big sponsors like Mazda NA, AEM, HKS..etc
If anyone knows anyone that works for a company that might be interested in sponsoring the meet send me a pm.

We will also need about 20 volunteers to help during the track day.

I need to have at least 40-50 people signed up by the end of April or I will have to look into terminating the track day and give refunds to those who have already signed up. This event will cost around $10,000-$12,000 to run. If we make under $10,000 I will be accountable for the rest of the money, so that is why I have to have people sign up early.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with planning last years meet and thanks to those who showed up. Sorry I was late, I could not get to sleep until 5am the night before, so I had to sleep in and then I wound up hitting some traffic on the way up to Seattle, so yeah things didn't go exactly how I planned. :( But at least I got to meet with/talk to most of you and checked out your cars.

^ And typically so few Mazdas. The point is to get as many Mazda owners as possible to support our habit, the price is not unreasonable.
