Sure to be one of the most watched events in recent SOLO history, the "Concord 2012" event will premire Michael "Junior" Johnson's brainchild - the Evolution Super Shootout. With a full day of SOLO on Saturday, top bracket winners and "last chance qualifiers" will be running Sunday in the single elimination rounds to crown our first ever Super Shootout winner.

Concord 2012

Are you a Novice or Intermediate Autocrosser? Thought about doing some bigger events? I have the perfect one! We set it up so that instead of 3 runs like at National Tours you get 4 , plus 2 more to improve your Pax position and instead of just class winners and the top Pax making it into the Challenge rounds we will draw 16 Random entries from those not already qualified for our Shootout . Even a Novice can win big in this format! Not to mention The thousands of dollars in random drawing give aways! What is the event? The Evolution Super Shootout!

What is the Evolution Super Shootout?

The Evolution Super Shootout is three events in one package, starting with a standard four run Autocross, then moving to a two run Last Chance Qualifier, with the final show down coming together in the Super Shootout. This format allows the forty-eight fastest drivers to mix with the top four ladies, as well as twelve random drawn drivers in a four ladder tournament to see who can take home the big prize. With Autocross being a sport of thousandths of a second, and cone penalties a plenty, this format could surely see a complete newbie come home the winner.

The Evolution Super Shootout features a four run event where all class winners and 32 of the 64 Super Shootout qualifiers are determined. These top 32 qualifiers are determined from the events overall PAX results, and are then locked into their positions for the Sunday Super Shootout. Once these folks are locked in, the rest of the competitors get a second chance at the Super Shootout with our Last Chance Qualifier. The LCQ allows these remaining competitors two runs to try and position their self into the top 48 spots in the PAX. Following the LCQ the top four ladies class competitors are brought into the Super Shootout bringing the total number thus far to 52. The remaining 12 Super Shootout positions will be from a random drawing of any that have not made the top 52 spots, bringing the total to 64.

With the Super Shootout field complete, we break the 64 competitors into a four bracket system, with the top 4 qualifiers taking the number one seed in each bracket. The first round of each bracket will allow one warm up run before the money rounds start. The Super Shootout will also run on a PAX system where each pairing will run heads up with the winner advancing to the next round, and the winners of each bracket running for the top spot worth as much as $2,500 in cash and prizes.

The Evolution Super Shootout pays prize money back to the top drivers in the Shootout based on 10% of the overall number of competitors (eg. 250 competitors, top 25 drivers in the Shootout bring home $$). The overall Super Shootout winner takes home $1,000 cash plus any contingency prizes!
