mazda protege 2003
Hi !

I have a mazda protege 2003 LX and a annoying clunk in the front end
The recent change :
- tie rod end (driver)
- ball joint (passager)
- bearing (both side)
- top plate (both side)
- alignement of the 4 wheels (so technically there's no loose or bad piece)

This is the video of the annoying clunk

The following video is when i press the brake pedal as you see in the video

As far as the braking part, I'm not 100% sure, but make sure all the slide pins are greased/lubed properly. I would up replacing both of my front calipers recently to avoid the annoying rattle/clunking sound from the pads flopping around inside the caliper.

the clunk you hear is from the sway bar links, they are attached to the strut tower and connect to the sway bar of course...the ball joints get worn out on the inside and clunk. just replace them both...get the replacements for a 01-03 escape. They're thicker and last longer.

Also you should probably replace the sway bar bushings about now. They're probably worn. I could only find the right ones from the dealer...they only cost me $6.65 for the fronts.

how many miles? I had to replace my calipers @110k miles...

Ok I will replace both sway bar bushing and link kit and see what it does
For the calipers i'm at 118k miles right now so replacing the calipers will be i good progress ?
I have drums in the back
