Air conditioning stopped

I have a 2007 mazda 3 and last week on a hot day after driving about 30 minutes in city traffic my air conditioner stopped working. The fan just blows hot air, the same whether the air conditioning button is engaged or not (light still works). I've used it twice since then and the a/c still won't come on.

Any ideas what it might be? Is there a fuse to check somewhere? What should I know before taking it to the dealer?

The A/C compressor clutch may be no good. When you turn on the a/c do you hear the clutch engage?

Leak, Out of freon, easy to check, might not be so easy to fix!

I'm having the same problem, it worked for a short drive, then just cut out and hasn't come back yet.

Are you having any other issues? I'm also having a cylinder misfire issue with cylinder 1. 2007 speed3

compressor gone or a leak some where in your cars system or possible both. if your compressor is fine, then the garage you go to will want to try filling your system with refridgerant that has a dye in it so they can look for a leak somewhere in the cars system. then they can hopefully fix it for you.
