Unfortunately at this time we do not offer any performance parts for your vehicle. It is something we are interested in, but have not began any R&D. Depending on other pending projects we might have something in the next few months.

AND FINALLY CORKSPORT.....this is my messages back and forth.

Hello Otniel,

I would certainly take you up on your offer to do some research for us. We will be closely examining the Cx-7 over the next few weeks and I should have an idea what we plan to manufacture when I return from vacation in a few weeks. There may be some products we make even if you cannot find a lot of support on the forums. Especially, if these products fit well with our overall product strategy.

The efforts of someone like yourself can make the difference in whether a product comes to market. I welcome any assistance you are willing to give.

FYI: Our prototype exhaust system for the 6 is quieter than most of our other systems. Your point about the people who own these sorts of cars are not generally interested in loud and obnoxious is valid. If we make a system for the Cx-7 it will certainly be a sound most all "enthusiasts" will enjoy.

Regards,
Rich

I don't think people want to comprise there nice quiet crossover for something loud and obnoxious.(Just key points to keep in mind when building parts.)

There is one company who has just released an intake and a BOV for it....the company is http://www.cp-e.com/scan/co=yes/fi=products/sf=category/se=CX7/op=eq.html?open =

So finally I have come to the conclusion that if we get aftermarket support, it won't be much. Corksport is practically the only company that is open for ideas. So it is up to us, the consumers, to let them know how much aftermarket support we need. So they are open to ideas....
I have started this thread to see what kind of realistic things are we looking for that we might purchase.

Start posting ideas....

I am also going to try and post a poll.

I think it will take some time before we see much support from the aftermarket. There needs to be enough cars on the road so that they can recoup their R&D costs and turn a profit. Mazda sold 3,421 CX-7's in December. That said, the more we demand support the better our chances will be. I would start hounding Eibach and H&R next for some springs. That is usually the first thing that becomes available in the aftermarket.

That sucks....I tried to contact Magnaflow and they never got back to me.:bs:

Right now I want an exhaust.

I want more intake options. Cold air and short. One company is not enough I want a selection anyone yet email AEM or Injen on the CX-7 application? They offer free systems if you can drop your ride off in there R&D shops if they have a interest in making them.

3" Stainless exhaust and downpipe would be nice-very expensive I'm sure though

Mmmmmmmmmmm 3" down pipe....
I'm tempted to do the 'only' intake' on the market though...I'm getting the mod bug.

OK, Guys and Gals. For a newbie like me, it would be nice if someone would take the time to explain what all the additions, substitutions and initials stand for and what they represent in the way of modifications, mileage, proformance, etc.

Thanks,
NMK

TMIC- top mount intercooler
FMIC- front mount intercooler
DP- downpipe
CBE- catback exhaust
TBE- turboback exhaust
CAI- cold air intake
HFC- high flow cat
TB- throttle body
MAF- mass airflow sensor
BOV- blow off valve

Performance, they need to be developed and Dyno'd on the cars. Mileage, well higher HP usually spells less MPG when the car is WOT -"wide open throttle"-I will save the use of someone typing the next? Will it void my warranty if it causes a problem "Yes" but most people tuning have the spare stuff on back up ready to swap out before they bring to the dealer.

-It all depends who makes this stuff the flow what size tubbing, the bends, etc..... Don't forget if this stuff is not made right CELS will be popping like crazy especially in the exhaust areas had tons of issues on my vr4 and eclipse, wrx

Downpipe is pretty much useless without complimenting mods like: highflow cat and exhaust.
I thought so too....until I went to www.stillen.com

BTW Keep on coming with the conversations as I will be forwarding this to those who want to make products for our cars :)

Oh I never said you won't get any kind of performance from just a downpipe.

BUT the gains will be maximized when combined with a HFC and a exhaust.

I'd like to see stuff to put out more power. Doesn't matter whether it's intake, downpipe, exhaust, or software... but as was mentioned above, dyno'd HP/torque gains. Not just stuff to make it sound fast.

And handling...

I'm not into lowering myself, but everybody somebody puts big rims there's a bunch of comments that the CX7 needs to be lowered. So a good lowering kit.

E-mail I got from the president of Corksport....

Hello Otniel,

We have decided to manufacture an exhaust system and downpipe for the
Cx-7. Both will be constructed of polished stainless steel. The
downpipe will retail around $400 while the exhaust will retail around
$550. Both should be available this summer.

We are currently considering a front mount intercooler kit as well.

Keep me posted on what Cx-7 owners are interested in. We will
continue to evaluate product possibilities and we'd like to add more
products for the Cx-7 to our product line.

Regards,
Rich
