I'm just trying to wrap my head around project plans and get some stuff laid out just in case I decide to spring on my temptation and build my car... So, since I plan on going boosted, and the stock ECU is kinda, well, non-adjustable, would it be worth replacing it. I looked at the AEM EMS-4 Standalone System, looks promising, so, would it be worth it and is it a good option or should I stay stock and/or look at a different system?

Just going to post here so I can see if you get any feedback. I'm asking about the Megasquirt 2 and I know there are people on here in the past with extensive experience putting these stand alone systems in...maybe the "old guard" though as I haven't seen any action on it recently. Hope that changes...

I mentioned this in another thread, but I would start reading about stand alones on Miata forums. Their management system is very similar to the P5, and those guys very commonly fit turbos and do custom tunes with Megasquirt.
