Hey guys. I have a 2008 Mazda6 and it was about a week to two weeks ago the a/c stopped blowing cold air, even on the coldest where it's supposed to be freezing, and a whirring noise popped up. It sometimes gets louder when I accelerate but sometimes doesn't. It doesn't seem like it's blowing as much air as it's supposed to. I don't know if it's the blower or what. I've tried searching online but can't find anything. Help?

Sounds like it might be the AC compressor. On my 04, it makes alot of noise when it's on and I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't fail. While in park, turn the ac on and rev the engine slightly to see if the whirring noise also speeds up. Then with the blower fan still on, just turn the ac off. If the noise stops, it's the compressor. If the whirring is still present, than it could be the blower motor. Since the ac isn't as cold, sounds like you are losing freon and I would guess it's your ac compressor.
