I have a 1996 626 ES 2.5 V6 with 180,000 miles. On my way home a few days ago, taking off from a stop light a few miles from work, 1st gear, then 2nd gear, then it shifts out of 2nd for a moment or two, only to shift back into 2nd. It hasn't shifted past 2nd since.
No warning lights on the dash, trans has been shifting fine up until then, still have 6000 miles until the next ATF change.
Hoping it's just the range sensor but have a bad feeling it may be one or more solenoids. Looking for a couple other opinions of what the community might think it is. Thanks for any and all help you can offer.
