55mm Offset???

I saw a set of steel wheels on ebay that were 16" with 55mm offset. I check with Tirerack.com and they listed some rims with 53mm offset. anyone know if 55mm offset would work on a 2006 M3?

I didnt bid on that set of rims just because i wasnt sure....

stock is 52mm...3mm dosen't sound like much, BUT, it may be too close to the strut/spring. Tire size will play a role too.

same fears here. if you go to close to the strut especially with a meaty winter tire it may rub...

That's only a difference of .120" (3mm). If it's a good deal worst case you could get some spacers to make up for the difference.

I should have bough that set of steels in hind sight. but i wasnt 100%. I still have at least 3-1/2 months left before 1st snow so there is still plently of time.
